Before You Enroll
Do I need prior crane experience to attend?
No. The entry-level course is designed for individuals with no previous crane operating experience.
Training starts with fundamentals and builds progressively.
Is this course only for new operators?
No. The program is also well-suited for riggers, signalpersons, and operators looking to strengthen fundamentals
or transition into the operator seat.
Where is the training located?
Training is based in Pueblo, Colorado and serves Southern Colorado and surrounding regions.
Training & Expectations
What does a typical training day look like?
Training follows a five-day schedule with 12-hour days to reflect real job-site conditions.
Days are split between classroom instruction, yard setup, and seat time.
How much classroom time is involved?
Classroom sessions are short and focused, covering essential topics such as load charts, ground conditions,
communication, and safety rules. Concepts are then immediately applied in the yard.
What happens in the yard portion of training?
Students spend significant time setting up outriggers, walking job sites, evaluating ground conditions,
and reviewing rigging setups. This mirrors real-world job preparation.
What equipment do students train on?
Training is conducted on a Tadano rough terrain crane—widely known in the industry for reliability,
smooth operation, and operator comfort. It’s a crane many operators will encounter throughout their careers.
How much actual seat time will I get?
Seat time is a major focus. Training begins with basic movements and crane control, then progresses to more demanding lifts
as students demonstrate proper judgment, communication, and situational awareness.
Employment & Industry
Does this course guarantee a job?
No. No legitimate crane program can guarantee employment. What we provide is practical, job-ready training
that prepares students to operate safely and professionally.
Do employers recognize this training?
Yes. The program is built around real job-site expectations and industry standards, which employers value when evaluating new operators.
Can companies send employees for training?
Yes. As the academy grows, we can work directly with employers to reserve slots or create small group sessions.
Contact us to discuss company-specific needs.
Policies & Safety
Is a drug screening required?
Yes. All students are required to pass a drug screening prior to participation.
What happens if weather conditions are poor?
Training continues as long as conditions are safe. If weather makes crane operation unsafe, focus shifts to classroom discussion,
planning, and risk evaluation.
Can a student be removed from the program?
Yes. Unsafe behavior, refusal to follow instructions, or repeated disregard for safety rules may result in removal.
Crane operation is not a place for shortcuts or ego.
